INSTEP Continues to Accelerate Papua New Guinea Human Capital Development

INSTEP is ending the year 2022 with another success story marking the date of 15th December 2022 after 10 engineers from Santos Limited, Papua New Guinea, had successfully completed 4 months of the customised Petroleum Technology Programme (PTP). This event further validifies INSTEP’s reputation as an internationally acknowledged preferred learning solutions partner.

A cosy closing ceremony was held at Paya Bunga Hotel, Kuala Terengganu to commemorate the completion of the 4-month training programme. The programme started in August until December 2022 with a total of 19 learning weeks. Involving learners from various engineering backgrounds, INSTEP designed this programme with the intention to ensure all learners are exposed to multiple engineering fields and to upskill technical knowledge to boost up their capability.

Anticipation and cheerful smiles were reflected on the learners’ faces alongside INSTEP staffs.

INSTEP’s pivotal role with Santos Limited which previously known as Oil Search Limited (OSL), was established since 2018, when INSTEP had been actively providing technical learning solutions to OSL engineers and technicians through customised training programmes.

Mr. Muhammad Asri Omar, INSTEP Head of Marketing & Sales delivered his welcoming remarks during the ceremony.

Mr. Muhammad Asri Omar, INSTEP Head of Marketing & Sales extended his heartiest congratulations to the learners. “Your hard work and perseverance have paid off, congratulations to everyone. Mr. Biang Kanasa in his sharing as the learners’ representative.

Quoting Mr. Biang Kanasa in his learners’ representative speech, “Though we are from the same company, we just had the chance to connect and bond after joining this programme. In addition, now I am proud to say, we are able to speak the same language across different fields of engineering.”

Mr. Biang Kanasa also conveyed his gratitude towards INSTEP hospitality and 5-star services provided through his 4-month stay in INSTEP. “We were exposed to cultural differences when we just arrived here, but luckily in no time, we were able to adapt quickly since everyone at INSTEP is so warm and welcoming”, he added.

Mr. Muhammad Asri during the certificate presentation to one of the learners.

INSTEP Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Idris bin Ibrahim also congratulated the learners upon their course completion. “Congratulations to all learners and thank you for your strong trust and confidence in choosing INSTEP as your preferred technical learning solutions partner. Hopefully all of the valuable experiences you gain here in INSTEP will be helpful in crafting your career pathway.”

With the commissioning of Upstream Downstream Training Plant (UDTP) since 2014, it allows rooms for mistakes, enabling learners to reflect and understand errors prior to actually performing the job later at live plant. In the effort to deliver the value of industry & technology driven technical learning solutions, INSTEP is committed to continue progressing and accelerating local and international energy workforce competency development while enriching lives for a sustainable future.
