Kuala Nerus, Malaysia, 23 May 2024 – Insitut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS (INSTEP), in collaboration with Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad, proudly announces the successful completion of Hibiscus Technician Onboarding Programme, joined by ten technicians.
This training programme, a product of the strategic partnership between INSTEP and Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad, was designed to equip technicians with advanced skills and knowledge essential for the evolving energy sector, comprising of four intensive modules including Production, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Electrical. This is a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities and expertise of the local energy industry workforce.

Also present during the event were representatives from Hibiscus Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited Sdn Bhd, Mike Fox, Head of Asset Peninsular, and Rober Palmer, Senior Manager of Production & Maintenance Operations, in addition to INSTEP management team.Â

The training module complete with theoretical learning in classroom and practical hands-on in INSTEP Upstream Downstream Training Plant (UDTP) provides the learners with experiential learning, preparing them for real life working scenario prior to entering the industry upon their programme completion.Â
