CePSWaM

Safe handling, storage, transportation, and proper treatment & disposal of scheduled wastes are crucial to prevent unintended exposure that will affect human health and pollute the environment.

Safe handling and proper management of hazardous wastes require competent person who is knowledgeable and able to advise organisation to comply with the legal requirements and industry best practices. INSTEP is an approved training provider to facilitate CePSWaM with the intention to produce as many competent person as possible for the benefit of the nation.  Our trainers are capable to share their hands-on experiences and transfer their knowledge, in addition to classroom activities and discussion of case studies.

Certificate of Competency will be awarded by Environment Institute of Malaysia (EiMAS) to participants who have successfully completed the course, passed the examination and submitted field training reports.

  • Module on Competency Programme
  • Module 1: Overview of Scheduled Waste Management
  • Module 2: Identification, classification and properties of scheduled wastes
  • Module 3: Introduction to scheduled waste legislations and policies

Day 2

  • Module 4.4.1: Notification and inventory
  • Module 4.4.2: Storage requirement
  • Module 4.4.3: Tracking
  • Module 4.4.4: Licensing

Day 3

  • Module 4.4.5: Treatment and disposal
  • Module 4.4.6: International convention
  • Module 5: Field training report on CePSWAM (EIMAS)

Day 4

  • Module 6: Group workshop
  • Module 7: Practical exercise
  • Group review session

Day 5

  • Practical and written exams
  • Self-revision session

Programme Date

Prerequisite

  • Diploma or Degree in Science or Engineering
  • Certificate from polytechnic or SKM Level 3 with 1 year experience in handling schedule waste
  • SPM with 3 years’ experience in handling schedule waste

Note: Company must submit copy of highest educational certificate with a letter to confirm the experience

Managers, Executives, Supervisors and Operators involve in managing and handling of toxic and hazardous wastes.
