The first Kejohanan Sukan Institut TVET Sabah (KSITS) was held from 6 to 10 May 2024. With the aim to promote sportsmanship, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among student and instructor, the event was joined by various Technical and Vocational Education institutes including Kolej Vocational Sabah, Institut Latihan dan Perdagangan (ILTP), Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Borneo TVET College, Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM), Montfort Youth Training Centre (MYTC) and Kimanis Petroleum Training Centre (KTC). Also present during the officiation of the event was Datuk Armizan Mohd. Ali, Member of Parliament P.175 Papar and Menteri Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup.
The competition featured a variety of sports, including netball, football, speak takraw, volleyball, badminton, and aero dance, with both male and female athletes participating. Throughout the event, each institute competed in various categories, showcasing their skills and dedication. KTC succeeded in achieving second place in the aero dance competition. Winners brought back medals, trophies, certificate, and cash rewards.
In addition to encouraging an active lifestyle, this sport event acted as a platform for all participants to enhance teamwork and cooperation, while also served as a scouting ground for sports talent in Sabah.
KTC had participated in 5 sport categories, and successfully secured the second place in the aero dance female category and was awarded with RM500 cash rewards, medals, trophies and certificate.
In summary, this event was more than just a sports competition; it was a celebration of youth, talent, and the spirit of togetherness, playing crucial roles in promoting sports and physical fitness among TVET student in Sabah while providing a platform for collaboration opportunities among TVET Institute.
