On 11 September 2024, INSTEP celebrated 33 learners who had completed Apprentice Training Programme, a comprehensive 10-month training focused on BTEC Level 2 and 3 qualifications across various trades, including Production, Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation.
Santos Limited is a global energy company with operations across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and the United States. The celebrated learners represent the third batch of trainees from this ongoing collaboration between INSTEP and Santos Limited.
Upon completion of the 10-month training programme, these technicians from Santos will be absorbed as staff to be assigned at plant sites, to contribute their skills and expertise directly to Santos’ operations in Papua New Guinea. This initiative by Santos aims to upskill the technical competencies of Papua New Guinea’s workforce through experiential learning, tailored to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Also present during the event was Mr. Wayne Kasou, Senior Vice President PNG Stakeholder Management.
Mr. Mohamad bin Nasir, Chief Executive Officer of INSTEP commented, “This continuous collaboration between INSTEP with Santos Limited is a strong illustration of INSTEP’s status as the trusted technical learning solutions partner in building a sustainable talent pipeline for the global energy industry.
