INSTEP Bags its First STAR Excellence Award 2021 from ExxonMobil

On 23 November 2022, INSTEP once again is proving its status as the progressive preferred technical learning solutions partner after being selected as the winner of 2021 Supplier Tracking Assessment & Rating (STAR) Excellence Award in Provision of Training Instructors and Facilities from ExxonMobil. This event steadily firms INSTEP’s relevance in being one of the key players in the technical training field.

The award presentation was held on 23 November 2022 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, during the Senior Contractor Management Forum. INSTEP Head of Marketing & Sale Division, Mr. Muhammad Asri bin Omar represented INSTEP to the ceremony where the award was presented by Director & Vice President (Development), ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI), Ms. Nadia binti Ismail. Also present at the ceremony was the President of EMEPMI, Mr. Shane Harris.

INSTEP was selected as the winner of 2021 Supplier Tracking Assessment & Rating (STAR) Excellence Award after successfully achieving 4.0 rating in the 1H2021 and 2H2021 for Provision of Training Instructors and Facilities. Besides acknowledging INSTEP’s dedication in prioritising a safe and conducive work environment, this award also served as a testament to INSTEP’s commitment in ensuring the top-notched status in the areas of Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Quality, Timeliness and Responsiveness for Provision of Training Instructors and Facilities.

INSTEP has been collaborating with ExxonMobil Malaysia in this matter since 2008. In addition, in June 2022, INSTEP had signed another agreement with ExxonMobil to provide Basic Engineering Training (BET) programme for its staffs.

“This is the first time INSTEP ever received an award from ExxonMobil which might help us to broaden our visibility beyond the local horizon amongst energy industry players, to the global level”, commented Mr. Mohammad Ayub bin Hassan as INSTEP representative to the event.

“This also supplies the significant evidence of how INSTEP has carved a strong name and brand for itself in the technical learning industry. INSTEP will continue to support ExxonMobil by being the preferred technical training centre, progressively crafting talents for energy workforce”, he added.

INSTEP Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Idris bin Ibrahim expressed his delight upon winning this award. “I would like to credit this award to INSTEP members who are involved in this programme. Aligned with INSTEP winning aspiration, we are accelerating the technical learning capability and will continue supporting ExxonMobil Malaysia competency development through our training programmes.”

INSTEP has contributed generously to the acceleration of human capital development in the energy industry since its establishment in 1981. This success story further manifests INSTEP contribution and advancement in building technical competencies and commitment in enriching the energy workforce towards a sustainable future.
