Bridging Programmes
Bridging Programme Management (BPM) Department offers long-term and residential programmes, aiming to bridge the participants who possess degrees and diplomas with oil & gas engineers and technicians levels of competency respectively.
Technical Energy Enrichment Programme (TEP) is a 10-month pre-employment programme specifically designed to develop essential technical competencies and generative culture mindset to produce certified job-ready technicians.
Customised Programmes for Domestic & International clients (4 – 24 months) to suit our clients’ learning requirements and needs to develop job-ready engineers & technicians.

Assessments & Certifications
INSTEP is an awarding body for PETRONAS Competency-based Assessment System (PECAS) to certify technicians and operators with Base-line Assessment studies to evaluate the competency level of the technical workforce to come with appropriate learning interventions.
Training for Competent Persons for statutory requirements:
Internal Certification
INSTEP is the Awarding Body for PETRONAS Competency-based Assessment System (PECAS). Through PECAS, all technicians in PETRONAS are assessed to ensure their competencies.
External Certification
INSTEP is the approved training and assessment centre for the following Awarding Bodies:
Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)
- Competency Certification for Engineer and Driver in Steam Boiler or Internal Combustion Engine
- Authorised Entrant and Standby Person (AESP) for Confined Space
- Offshore Self-Regulation (OSR)
Department of Environment
- Certified Environmental Professional in the Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Biological Processes) (CePIETSO-BP)
- Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM)
- IECEx Competency Training Programmes

- Electrical Competent Person (Chargeman)
