Institut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS (INSTEP) launched the Safe System of Work (SSoW) Training Skid at its campus in Batu Rakit on 12th March 2012.
The skid was contributed by PETROFAC Limited as part of its commitment after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PETRONAS for the collaboration on technical training and capability development.
Using this training skid, INSTEP will be able to offer training with regards to safe work practices involving Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, Lock Out and Tag Out (LOTO) system, Job Method Statement (JMS), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Behavioural Safety (BS). These activities or systems of work are common practices in the oil and gas plant operation and maintenance to ensure high level of operational safety. This programme is targeted on plant engineers, supervisors, and technicians as well as skilled and unskilled workers.
The event was officiated by Vice President, Human Resource Management Division, PETRONAS, Puan Juniwati Rahmat Hussin, witnessed by Country Manager of Petrofac, Mr Keith Collins and CEO of PETRONAS Technical Training Sdn Bhd, Encik Wan Azhar Lotfi Wan Yusof. Also present in the event were representatives from Petrofac and officials from PETRONAS Operating Units.
